About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced VP Controller to lead our global accounting function. As a critical member of the finance leadership team, you will establish and oversee institutional-grade financial controls, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
This role is pivotal to ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance as MAKE scales globally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and scale the global accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, tax, audit, accounts payable, and payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS.
Design, implement, and maintain rigorous internal controls and financial processes appropriate for a regulated fintech platform.
Coordinate global tax compliance, corporate filings, and partner with external auditors for annual financial audits.
Collaborate closely with the CFO and leadership team on capital management, board reporting, and strategic financial planning.
Requirements
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a regulated fintech, bank, or financial services company.
Active CPA or equivalent professional certification is mandatory.
Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, multi-currency consolidations, and cross-border financial operations.
Proven track record of building and scaling accounting teams and processes in a fast-growing startup.
Strong analytical skills, high integrity, and excellent cross-functional communication abilities.
Nice to Have
Experience managing financial audits with Big 4 accounting firms.
Familiarity with creator economy monetization or high-volume transactional platforms.
Experience implementing advanced ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite).
