About the Role
We are seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the daily operations of our accounting department.
You will play a vital role in supervising financial close processes, ensuring technical accounting accuracy, and driving internal control enhancements as we continue to build institutional-grade finance capabilities at MAKE.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis across multiple corporate entities.
Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS.
Draft and update technical accounting policies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
Support the VP Controller during external audits, corporate tax filing preparations, and regulatory compliance reporting.
Requirements
4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and industry experience in tech/fintech.
Active CPA certification is required.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, multi-currency reporting, and internal controls framework (SOX or equivalent).
Advanced Excel skills and experience utilizing robust financial ERP networks (e.g., NetSuite).
Strong communication skills and experience managing or mentoring junior accounting staff.
Nice to Have
Experience within a highly regulated financial services or digital banking environment.
Familiarity with global multi-entity structures and cross-border intercompany transactions.
Experience automating accounting close processes or implementing financial software modules.
